Each month I prepare recipes for a local food pantry basket distribution. This is one of the recipes. One of the recipes is always: Kid Healthy Recipes.
Cookies for Breakfast??? Why not with these nutricious cookies. They are about 80 calories and have all the goodness of a bowl of oatmeal. These are also a great afterschool snack.
2 C. Flour
1 C. Oatmeal
1 t. Soda
1 t. Cinnamon
1/2 t. salt
1/2 C. margarine
1 C. brown sugar
1 egg
1 C. applesauce – flavored or unflavored
Mix egg, sugar and margarine – cream in mixer until blended. Mix all other ingredients. Drop by teaspoonfuls on cookie sheet. Bake at 375′ for 10 minutes or until lightly brown.
