Fresh strawberries will soon be in season and some grocery stores have already started selling them very economically. I bought several quarts recently and did not want to spend the time to make jam, etc. I cleaned and cut the berries in half and placed them on a non-stick baking sheet in a single layer, placed the sheet in the freezer. After about 4 hours I picked up the berries and placed into a freezer bag. These will be great for smoothies or I can thaw them and add sugar for a quick dessert. Much more economical than buying them in the grocery.

I use the frozen strawberry idea, too. It works so great in smoothies instead of ice. You get the frozen quality to the smoothie, but with a more intense flavor because the full fruit or berry is acting as the “ice”. Have you ever tried freezing banana slices? Great with a little skim milk and peanut butter in the blender for a breakfast drink.
Great job on your blog!
