Wow! That is some story. Even though I had a phone call from you, reading about what happened makes it that much powerful. Plus, the extra information about the lady in the waiting room and the man that approached you at the hotel. We were once approached by a man and his wife when we were leaving a restaurant in OR. He said they were out of money and needed enough for a hotel, but all we could do was give him $5.00. We actually drove off and then we circled back around and changed our minds. It was Christmas time and who knows if we actually helped someone or they were just getting money for something else. I like to think that God puts Angels down here to test us. Maybe we passed?

I may buy some of these bags, too. My lettuce and celery here don't last very long, and like you, I HATE to waste perfectly healthy food!

I've just discovered your site and I love it. You are obviously a clever lady and I like your style. I'll be checking in all the time for recipe ideas - I am one of "those" who have zero imagination in the kitchen even though I love to eat!

Also for the leftover buns, if you aren't going to use them and they are getting close to expiration you can let them lay out to get hard, then grind them in a food processor to make homemade bread crumbs. I've been doing this and then putting them in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

I use them for meatloaf, salmon cakes, or anything else that needs breadcrumbs. Plus, you can put your own seasonings in it and there is no extra added salt like in store brands. Breadcrumbs bought at a store cost more than a loaf of bread!
