Use whatever flake cereal you like: Wheat, corn, bran, etc. (Wheaties, Corn Flakes, Bran Flakes)
1 1/2 cups flour – can use whole wheat
1/2 t. baking powder
3/4 t. soda
1/2 t. salt
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 1/4 cups brown sugar
1 egg – beaten
1/4 cup milk
1 1/2 cups flake cereal
3/4 cups chopped nuts – walnuts, pecans, almonds or peanuts
Cream the butter and egg. Add the dry ingredients and milk (except the flakes) and mix until blended. Add the flakes and nuts. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto cookie sheet two inches apart. Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes until lightly brown.
These have so many good ingredients they can be used as a breakfast cookie, afterschool snack or dessert.
